Elizabeth Daniels is originally from West Tennessee, but has called Georgia home for over 25 years. She has been involved in quilting and other textile arts for many years. At the urging of her daughter, she began making pottery in 2005. She enjoys experimenting with textures and glazes to make items that are unique and functional. Whimsical items are a large part of her pottery creations.

Jack Meacham came to Georgia over 35 years ago. He graduated from the California College of Arts & Crafts in 1974, and has been working in one artistic field or another ever since (freelance illustrator and designer, art director, set designer, animator, and most recently middle school art teacher). He began taking pottery lessons in 2011 and quickly realized that he had found a compelling craft that was technically challenging and emotionally rewarding.

They have both had ceramic art exhibited in the annual Southern Appalachian Artist Guild National Juried Show.

Jack and Elizabeth have been showing and selling ceramics at festivals in Atlanta and around the North Georgia mountains since 2014. After several years of coming up to Ellijay on the weekends from Atlanta, they moved to the mountains full time in 2015.

In December 2016 they opened In the Woods Pottery Studio in Ellijay where they create pottery and ceramic sculpture, give lessons, and promote the pottery community.
